Desde 1998, mais de um terço dos ciclistas classificados nos 10 primeiros lugares da Volta à França estiveram envolvidos em problemas relacionados com doping. O desporto profissional e as verbas nele envolvidas tornam inevitável o fenómeno, com o envolvimento de médicos, laboratórios e dos próprios estados — uma vergonha e um nojo!
